POMPIER, PUMP AND PLAYPIPE SOCIETY OF INDIANA
Founded in 1978, the Pompier, Pump and Playpipe Society of Indiana is
the Indiana Chapter of SPAAMFAA (Society for the Preservation and
Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America). PPPSI is a
non-profit society and is recognized by the state of Indiana as a
not-for-profit corporation. The Society is dedicated to preserving,
restoring, and operating the fire fighting apparatus that are a part
of our heritage.
PPPSI
has monthly meetings, promotes safety and training in the operation of
apparatus, and sponsors group outings to places of interest to the
membership. Our premiere activity each summer is a muster that allows
our members and friends to get together and show off their apparatus.
The Society’s publication, “The
Playpipe,” an illustrated monthly magazine, keeps members up to date
on upcoming events and contains many articles of both current interest
and historical importance.
